Public bathrooms on site. The entrance fee is what keeps them clean.
Picnic shelters
Shelters and tables; reserve the big one for a party
Buckets and wagons
Baskets, clamshells, bags and buckets provided. Wagons for big hauls, or for kids.
Bring a picnic
We sell snacks, but bringing your own food is a great idea. No outside alcohol, that one is the law.

Gravel lot with room for buses and RVs
Field trips and groups
School, homeschool and adult groups, all ages and sizes

Swing set and playground by the store
Dogs welcome
On a leash, outdoors only. Not in the store or on its porch. The orchard and the nature trail are great for a dog walk.

Five non-alcoholic drinks
Including sparkling apple cider, home-made root beer and ginger beer
Sweet cider
Fresh pressed in October, by the half gallon. Raw, not pasteurized.
Lemonade slushies
Summer only. Kid-friendly.
Must be 21+ to order hard cider. Five non-alcoholic drinks for the whole family.
Before you come
Wear solid shoes
Gravel, dirt and orchard rows. For pumpkins, bring gloves too.
It is the prairie
Bugs, pollen and wildflowers. Bug spray in summer is a good idea.
Sun and shade
Some shelters are covered. Bring a hat and water in summer.
Animals about
Goats, chickens and the dog. Keep yours away from the goats.
Stay clear of the equipment
Tractors, the barn and the pond are not play areas. Please mind the signs.
Settle your tab at the end
We add it up as one charge when you leave. We take cards, and we prefer cash.
Questions we get a lot
No. We are open year round, Wednesday to Sunday, and no appointment is necessary. Groups, field trips and shelter reservations are the exception; those are booked by email.
It is small, and it covers the public bathrooms, playgrounds, picnic areas, property tax and gravel for the parking lot. Fruit and cider sales do not cover those. If you only pop into the store for a quick purchase, there is no fee.
Yes, this is a great place for a dog. A few rules: keep them on a leash at all times, do not bring them inside the store or onto the porch, take them into the bushes to poop and leave it there (we do not want it in our trash cans), and keep them away from the goats and their guard dog.
Yes. We sell snacks, but you are welcome to bring your own and we are an awesome spot for a picnic. Absolutely no outside alcohol at any time; that is enforced by law. In October we sell cider donuts on the weekends.
Strawberries in May. Peaches in July and August. Apples from August through October, with one early variety in July. Pumpkins in October. The weather moves it around, so check our Facebook page or the What's ripe page before you drive out.
Yes, we spray, and no, we are not organic. Being organic in Kansas is nearly impossible with the pests we have, so we spray less than the recommended schedule, follow the Purdue Midwest Fruit Pest Management Guide, and keep customers out of the orchard for a good while after. Without it the fruit would go to the worms, bugs and deer.
About four a year, but we call them jams, as in jam session: a Strawberry Jam in May, a Peach Jam in July, an Apple Jam in September and a Pumpkin Jam in October. Those days need a ticket; season pass holders get in free.
We are open year round, so come by for cider, jam, apple butter and salsa. It is quieter for customers but not for us: pruning 5,000 trees takes a long time, and so does making cider. Entry is $3.50 a car from November 1 to April 30.
We are happy to host birthday and business parties and family gatherings, but we are not set up for weddings. No air-conditioned rooms for the wedding party, and not enough chairs.
